Feature Friday: Marjorie Bennett PT, DPT Physical Therapist
So we’ve talked before about the importance of Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy…every mom needs it! Pee when you laugh, pain during sex…these are very common and many women just live with them because they think that is normal for moms – but we can do something about it! Babies are like little tornadoes to our nether regions and pelvic floor physical therapy helps put us all back together! The biggest problem though, is that many moms need this while they are toting around a newborn, and may not be able to get out to the doctor. Enter Core Rehab and Wellness!
Marjorie Bennett at Core Rehab and Wellness is a MOBILE pelvic floor physical therapist. So she comes to you, wherever you are, whenever you need it. AMAZING. Check her out!
Here’s the Rest of the Interview:
What made you want start CORE Rehab and Wellness, LLC?
Simply to make it eaiser for people to get the care they deserve. As a mother of 5 myself, I know the constraints of making your health a priority much less making it to “another appointment” on time, much less at all. I love having the ability to make it simple and easy and provide the individualized one on one care you deserve. No more clinics, no more waiting rooms, no more requesting off early from work and fighting traffic to get there, I simply come to you. In your home, office, gym, park, wherever convenient. And I’ll bring all of the equipment needed as well.
What excites you the most about your work?
Getting people back to what they love doing, as quick as possible. I love people and I am in constant awe of our intelligent design and I treat with intention, recognizing that I am not just treating a body part. We are a combination of body, mind, and spirit. I’ve had the luxury of working in a variety of settings and have taken many courses over the years learning from experts in the profession, gaining as much knowledge and experience as I can. Combining orthopedics and my love for athletics with my pelvic health knowledge has been a game changer for me and I am excited to share what I know with the world in order to help men and women regain function and control that they thought was once a lost cause.
What is your biggest challenge?
How do you find harmony or balance between being a mom and a business owner?
Tell us about your family.
My husband and I both come from large families. I am #5 of 10, and he is #3 of 6, so we are definitely “middle children”. We have always wanted a large family ourselves, and were blessed with 5 children and one very large dog. I grew up here in St Louis, and my husband in Kansas. We have lived in quite a few cities while obtaining our post graduate degrees (KC, Austin, Charleston WV, St Louis) however being back home in St. Louis with all it has to offer with endless activities, diversity, and family has been wonderful.
If you could pick anything, what would your super power be?
To FREEZE TIME and yet still be able to interact within it. I would get SO MUCH DONE in 24 hours! I’d probably even take a nap. And how often as parents do we say “I wish I could just freeze time right now and enjoy this a little bit longer!”
What one piece of advice do you have for a mom that needs your service?
