If this is your first summer slathering sunscreen on wiggling kiddos, welcome to one of the great struggles of parenting! If you’re a sun-screen-application pro, then happy summer to you.
Applying sunscreen is not my favorite pastime, but it must be done. So what sunscreen should be used?
Why use NATURAL SUNSCREEN?
I won’t get into all the nitty gritty details, but there are two main options on the sun protection front…mineral and chemical based sunscreens.
Mineral bases, like zinc oxide, block the sun from penetrating your skin.
Chemical bases actually absorb into the skin to protect it…but that means all the chemicals are leaching into your body, which is not so good for us.
So let’s focus on some great natural options and if you want to see a good list of chemicals to avoid in sunscreen and why, check out this article by Naturally Savvy
